Grey has only been in a place like this two times before. Once with Curtis, once on his own when he had met the woman who mistook him for this d'Artagnan who he's yet to meet.

But he needs more than one pair of sweatpants and some t-shirts to wear; he knows that.

Where to start, he doesn't know, though. That's why Rat is with him. He holds his boyfriend's hand and looks around, more than a little lost.

"What kind of clothes are you trying to find?" Rat asks, glancing around the store. "Jeans? Trousers? A festively hideous sweater to match your tree?"

How would Grey know? He looks around. So many clothes. He wouldn't even know where to start. He gives a nearly helpless shrug.

[plaguedrat]

"Pants are good starts," Rat suggests, catching the uncertainty in Grey's face. "Couple of good pairs will go with everything."

[silenttrainbaby]

Pants. All right.

Grey looks around, moving toward what seems like hundreds of pairs of pants.

He'd had one for the last five years on the train. This seems an embarrassment of riches. Excessive even.

[plaguedrat]

"A pair or two of jeans," Rat suggests, looking them over. "Some trousers or slacks if you're going somewhere nice..."

He's one to talk. Rat's added one new pair to his selection, but he prefers the ragged cargo pants he arrived in.

Where does Grey go that he needs trousers?

He randomly pulls out a pair of pants on a hanger and holds them up; they are far wider than he needs. Like this?

[plaguedrat]

"No, those are too big," Rat says. "We could both fit into those at the same time." He grabs a pair of heavy work jeans in his own size. "Try these on."

[silenttrainbaby]

The material is rough and Grey holds them, his nose wrinkling just a little. He's used to sweatpants.

But he takes these anyway with a nod. All right.

[plaguedrat]

"You can try them on in that room there. See if they're comfortable," Rat says, nodding towards the dressing room.

[silenttrainbaby]

Grey follows where Rat points, only vaguely remembering how this all works from his visit with Curtis.

He nods again and looks at Rat over his shoulder before doing as told.

At first, it doesn't occur to him to close the curtain.

[plaguedrat]

Rat grins and closes it for him. "Sorry, but I'm not sharing," he teases.

Huh? Grey looks up as he's pushing his pants down his legs.

Either way, he takes off his pants and pulls on the other. They are short, up over his ankles, but they fit on his hips. The material almost feels rough on his skin. He shimmies his hips left and right and wrinkles his nose.

[plaguedrat]

"You're supposed to close the door, or the curtain, whatever," Rat explains, drawing it shut between them.

"Don't like it?"

Oh. Privacy is a new concept for Grey.

He reaches for Rat's hand to pull it closer, then, to rub the material. Is it rough?

[plaguedrat]

Rat nods, rubbing it again. "I'll find something a little softer. Wait here."

[silenttrainbaby]

If there's one thing Grey's good at, it's following instructions.

SO he waits, staying still until Rat returns.

[plaguedrat]

He takes only a second, coming back with a few different textures of jeans. He's chosen thick fabrics that will withstand wear, but that also maintain a soft texture.

"How about these?"

[silenttrainbaby]

Those feel better, already. Grey is quick to ditch the pants that were so rough. And he puts on another pair.

These are longer and go past his ankles. That's good.

He turns to look in the mirror, and around again to look at his behind in the pants; he gives Rat twinkle-eyed look.

[plaguedrat]

Rat smiles back at him, leaning carefully against the wall.

"Better?"

[silenttrainbaby]

Yes, better.

Grey bends and lifts his knees. He can move in these just fine.

That means he can lean against a leaning Rat.

[plaguedrat]

"You're going to get us in trouble," Rat teases, cupping his cheek and pulling him down for a kiss.

[silenttrainbaby]

Those kisses are worth getting in trouble for. They are sweet, but they never make Grey sick.

He especially likes it when he can lick his tongue against his boyfriend's. Like this.

[plaguedrat]

Rat doesn't forget where they are, he just forgets why he gave a damn in the first place. The deep, wet kisses are vastly preferable.

It makes Grey shiver, those kisses. Makes him want. Makes him feel heavy and light at the same time.

Makes him feel good.

[plaguedrat]

He grins, hands sliding down Grey's back to squeeze his behind.

"Yeah, I think you should keep this pair."
